Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) has been providing future-oriented port management services in Germany’s biggest seaport. As an institution under public law, the HPA is in charge of paving the way for the efficient, resource-friendly and sustainable implementation of infrastructure projects in the port. In order to modernize the software and hardware of the VTS system that includes 14 radar stations and two traffic centers with mutual redundancy, HPA has now commissioned the company in-innovative navigation GmbH. Thereby, state-of-the-art monitoring and communication systems will be integrated in order to satisfy the demands of granted access to the port for about 9.000 seagoing vessels per year. The system also meets the requirements of the relevant IALA standards for systems category “Advanced”.
The management of in-innovative navigation referred to the project: “Our system solution offered reflects the philosophy of HPA, which sees it as their daily task to provide an intelligent and reliable port infrastructure, dependable transport paths and efficient, transparent communication both marine and land-based. We are very proud that the HPA has chosen us and we now have the third largest port in Europe and international quality seaport as direct customer on our reference list.”
